The Director
General of Regional African Satellite Communication Organization (RASCOM), Timothy
Ashong has paid a courtesy call on the Algerian Ambassador to Ivory Coast, HE Idriss
Bouassila at his office. Accompanied by Marlene Enders, Head of Administration at
RASCOM, Mr. Ashong had a productive discussion with the Ambassador.
The
meeting focused on potential collaborations between RASCOM and Algeria,
particularly in the field of satellite technology. Algeria has established
itself as a leader in African satellite technology, having launched six
satellites.
The
discussion explored ways in which RASCOM and Algeria can work together to
advance their shared interests in satellite technology and telecommunications.
The meeting was held at the backdrop of the growing importance of international
cooperation in driving technological progress and economic development in
Africa.
As a
leading regional telecommunications organization, Mr. Ashong reiterated RASCOM's commitment
to promoting digital inclusion and bridging the connectivity gap in Africa.
According
to him by collaborating with Algeria, RASCOM can leverage the country's
expertise and experience in satellite technology to enhance its services and
reach more communities across the continent.
