Development
Bank Ghana and Opportunity International have signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) to jointly support the country's smallholder farmers to
boost agricultural productivity and food security in Ghana.
This
collaborative effort aims to address the challenges faced by smallholder
farmers, including limited access to markets, inadequate financial support, and
low productivity. By combining their expertise and resources, Development Bank
Ghana and Opportunity International seek to provide comprehensive support to
these farmers, paving the way for sustainable growth and food security in local
communities.
The
partnership will focus on enhancing productivity, improving market access, and
providing vital financial support to smallholder farmers. By doing so, it aims
to increase crop yields, improve quality, and ensure a stable and profitable
income stream for farmers. The initiative also seeks to provide tailored
financial services, including loans and savings products, to help farmers
manage risks and invest in their businesses.
