A team led by
Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Beleta Molla has visited two
startups in Ethiopia, FARIS and The Mall (Z Moll), to encourage and support
their innovative work. FARIS specializes in ICT, artificial intelligence, and
aerospace, while The Mall is a platform that offers food delivery and other
services.
The visit aimed
to identify the challenges faced by startups and incubation centers in Ethiopia
and to encourage them to create better capacity. Dr. Beleta in his remarks
noted the need for Ethiopia to harness its potential and resources to transform
into a technology-based economy, ensuring profitability and economic growth.
The minister
praised the economic growth and employment opportunities created by the
innovation and technology sector, urging startups to work collaboratively to
fill gaps and strengthen their results. He assured that the government is
committed to supporting startups and addressing their challenges through
policy, legal, and financial measures.
This visit
highlights the government's efforts to promote innovation and technology in
Ethiopia, recognizing the sector's potential to drive economic growth and
transformation.
