The South
African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) hsa announced the appointment of Themba
Gwejela as the new Group Executive: Corporate Affairs and Marketing, effective
from September 1, 2024.
Gwejela brings
over 18 years of experience in marketing and communications, having held senior
leadership positions at prominent financial services companies such as
Momentum, FNB, Old Mutual, Discovery, and Liberty. He also led his own agency,
working with automotive brands like General Motors Sub-Saharan Africa, Opel,
Isuzu, and Chevrolet.
Most recently,
Gwejela served as Head of Communications at EPPF, where he made a significant
impact by building a robust brand communications team and enhancing customer
communications and experience. He played a pivotal role in developing and
launching EPPF's new corporate identity and brand positioning strategy.
Gwejela holds a
BA Honours degree in Brand Leadership from VEGA School of Brand Communications
and a BA in Media, Communication and Culture from Nelson Mandela University.
His career is marked by his ability to deliver strategic initiatives that drive
brand growth and strengthen corporate communication.
