The Kenyan
government has launched two digital systems aimed at enhancing efficiency and
accountability in the public sector. The Presidential Directives Management
Information System (PDMIS) and the Foreign Travel Information Management System
(FOTIMS) were unveiled by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, in a ceremony
attended by top government officials.
The PDMIS will
track and monitor the execution of presidential directives, ensuring their
implementation and providing robust tools for accountability. The FOTIMS will
offer enhanced insights and ensure secure, centralized management of travel
data, revolutionizing how foreign travel is obtained and managed across
government entities.
The launch of
these systems is part of a broader agenda of digital transformation in
government, aimed at using ICT to drive meaningful change and ensure no one is
left behind.
Deputy Chief of
Staff, Eliud Owalo, who represented the Chief of Staff and Head of Public
Service, Mr. Felix Koskei, at the event noted the significance of the two
systems in advancing accountability and transparency in government. The launch
was graced by Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, who delivered the keynote
address.
The event was
attended by top government officials, including Cabinet Secretaries Dr.
Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u, Justin Muturi, Wycliffe Oparanya, and Beatrice
Askul, as well as Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, Principal Secretaries, and
CEOs of parastatals.
