ICASA Chairperson partners Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies to bridge the digital divide

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) Chairperson, Cllr. Mothibi Ramusi has partnered with the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mr. Solly Malatsi, on the Digital Connectivity Ecosystem Drive in the Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality.


The drive aimed to provide free internet access via SA Connect and promote digital literacy, ensuring that every community has the digital tools they need to thrive. Chairperson Ramusi emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting the critical role of digital connectivity in empowering communities and driving socio-economic growth.

By providing free internet access, the drive seeks to level the playing field, enabling marginalized communities to access information, education, and economic opportunities.


The promotion of digital literacy will also equip individuals with the skills they need to navigate the digital landscape confidently.

This collaborative effort between ICASA and the Ministry of Communications and Digital Technologies indicates a commitment to creating a more inclusive and connected society.
