Safaricom Ethiopia empowers students from low-income families with educational resources

Safaricom Ethiopia has donated 6,000 exercise books and 750 pens to 300 students from low-income families in Hawassa to support their academic journey.


During the donation ceremony, Frazer Chane, External Affairs Manager for Southern Ethiopia, reiterated Safaricom's commitment to driving growth through education. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Million Yossa, Vice Head of the Sidama Region Education Bureau, and Dr. Birhanu Desalegn, Head of the Hawassa City Education Office.


Million Yossa stated the importance of nurturing education, while Dr. Birhanu Desalegn highlighted how this contribution helps combat drop-out rates. Safaricom Ethiopia's investment in the future of its communities is a testament to its dedication to making a positive impact on society.

This initiative is part of Safaricom Ethiopia's efforts to promote education and empower students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
