its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of driving innovation and
connecting communities across Africa. The momentous occasion, brought together
industry leaders, stakeholders, and distinguished dignitaries, including the
President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.
The celebration highlighted
MTN’s evolution from a telecommunications pioneer to a leading force in digital
transformation across the continent. Under the theme of innovation and
progress, the event paid tribute to MTN's contributions to advancing connectivity,
fostering inclusion, and enabling economic growth in the digital age.
President Cyril Ramaphosa
commended MTN for its enduring commitment to bridging the digital divide, noting
the vital role the company plays in enhancing access to technology and
fostering economic empowerment across Africa.
The 30th-anniversary
celebration was more than just a commemoration of MTN's past achievements. It
was also an opportunity to look ahead, as the company reaffirmed its commitment
to fostering sustainable development and leveraging technology to unlock Africa's
