The National
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt, in collaboration with
the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has unveiled a
new framework designed to enhance overseas connectivity for Business Process
Outsourcing (BPO) companies and Global Delivery Centers.
Announced by Mohamed
Shamroukh, Chief Executive Officer of NTRA, the framework aims to provide BPOs
with greater security and cost efficiency, thereby creating more opportunities
for growth within the sector. The enhanced connectivity will not only streamline
operations for existing players but also serve as an attractive incentive for
new investments, aligning with government mandates to bolster Egypt’s
offshoring business.
This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to Egypt's economy by
driving hard currency inflow and creating new job opportunities. With the
global outsourcing industry continuously expanding, Egypt's enhanced
connectivity infrastructure positions the country as a top destination for
businesses seeking cost-effective and reliable solutions.
Mr. Shamroukh credited the achievement to the unwavering support and guidance
of Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information
Technology. He also expressed gratitude to Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, for his
dedication and cooperative efforts in bringing this framework to fruition.
