Rwanda’s
National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), in collaboration with the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU), has commenced a national
cyber drill aimed at enhancing cybersecurity capabilities and incident response
preparedness across the public and private sectors.
This
four-day event brings together ICT teams from various sectors to strengthen
their ability to protect critical information infrastructure and respond
effectively to potential cyber threats. The initiative according to officials
is to help foster a resilient digital ecosystem that can withstand evolving
cyber challenges.
The
cyber drill includes simulations of real-world cyber incidents, allowing
participants to test their skills in identifying, mitigating, and recovering
from cyberattacks. By focusing on practical scenarios, the exercise is expected
to improve coordination among national stakeholders and minimize the impact of
potential cyber incidents.
