The Gauteng Department of e-Government plays a critical role in modernizing public service delivery by integrating digital technologies into government operations. During the meeting, senior management presented an overview of the department’s achievements and outlined plans to address existing challenges in the new financial year, which begins in April.

One of the department’s flagship initiatives is its ICT skills training program, which aims to empower residents, especially those in underprivileged areas, with the skills needed to participate in the digital economy. By providing training in areas such as coding, digital literacy, and cybersecurity, the program seeks to create opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to economic growth and social development.

“Our commitment to uplifting communities through ICT skills training is unwavering,” said a senior representative from the Gauteng Department of e-Government. “We believe that by equipping residents with digital skills, we can create a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
