The Director of
FinTech and Innovation at the Bank of Ghana, Kwame Oppong has been appointed to
the World Economic Forum’s prestigious Global Leaders Council on Decentralized
Finance (DeFi).
The
appointment, announced by Oppong himself via social media, positions one of
Africa’s foremost financial technology experts at the heart of global
conversations shaping the future of decentralized financial systems.
As a passionate
advocate for financial inclusion, Mr. Oppong brings to the council a vital
perspective on how blockchain-based financial solutions could transform
economic participation across Africa.

transformative potential—especially for Africa,” Oppong stated. “It can bridge access gaps, empower underserved

In his new
