Rwanda’s Ministry of
Infrastructure has held discussions with members of the Rwanda Institute of
Architects (RIA) on measures to strengthen the architecture profession and
support the continued transformation of the country’s built environment.
The discussions were led by
Minister of State Col. Claudien Bizimungu and focused on the key challenges
facing the profession, as well as practical strategies to address them and
promote professional growth and excellence.
The engagement provided an
opportunity for the Ministry and architects to exchange views on the future
development of the profession and the role of stronger professional standards
in improving the quality and sustainability of Rwanda’s built environment.
Col. Bizimungu urged members
of the Rwanda Institute of Architects to strengthen collaboration and improve
coordination within the profession.
He emphasised the need for
architects to uphold high professional standards while contributing to the
development of sustainable and high-quality infrastructure across the country.
The discussions form part of
broader efforts by Rwanda to promote professional excellence and strengthen the
role of key stakeholders in shaping the country’s infrastructure and built
environment.
The Ministry of
Infrastructure said continued collaboration between government and
professionals would remain important in addressing challenges facing the sector
and supporting Rwanda’s broader development and transformation agenda.
