Senegal’s
Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications, and Digital has organized the
first workshop with directors of information systems (CIOs) and IT managers
from various ministries and public institutions. This workshop marks a pivotal
moment in the implementation of the New Deal for Technology, a strategic
initiative aimed at modernizing the state’s digital infrastructure and
governance.
The
establishment of the GouvNum Governance Committee is at the heart of this
initiative. This committee is tasked with structuring and steering the state’s
digital initiatives, ensuring coherence, efficiency, and security across all
digital projects.

This first
workshop was not only an opportunity to present the committee’s objectives but
also to discuss its operational modalities and strengthen collaboration among
stakeholders. The discussions emphasized the importance of a unified approach
to digital transformation, ensuring that all actors work together towards
common goals.
The GouvNum
Governance Committee represents a bold step forward in Senegal’s digital
journey. By establishing a robust framework for digital governance, the country
is laying the foundation for a more efficient, secure, and inclusive digital
ecosystem. This initiative is expected to enhance public service delivery,
promote innovation, and drive economic growth, ultimately improving the lives
of Senegalese citizens.

As the work of
the committee progresses, Senegal is poised to become a regional leader in
digital transformation, setting an example for other nations in Africa and
beyond. The commitment to collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning
underscores the government’s determination to harness the power of technology
for the benefit of all.
