Kenya’s
Ministry of Information, Communications, and The Digital Economy is poised to
participate in the forthcoming pan-African launch of the Digital Process
Library (DPL), an initiative developed by the United Nations Development
Programme's (UNDP) Resilience Hub for Africa. This commitment was expressed by
the Cabinet Secretary, William Kabogo during a courtesy call by the UNDP team,
highlighting the Ministry's dedication to advancing digital transformation
across the continent.

The
DPL aims to assist African governments in accelerating digital transformation,
enhancing public service delivery, and promoting accountability through
scalable, ready-to-use e-governance solutions. By providing a repository of
standardized digital processes, the DPL seeks to streamline governmental
operations, reduce redundancy, and foster transparency across various sectors.
This initiative aligns with the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy
and the Sustainable Development Goals, establishing it as a model for
international collaboration in digital governance.
Kenya's
participation in this high-level launch underscores the country's leadership in
digital infrastructure development, mobile penetration, and e-government
services. The nation has made significant strides in expanding its digital
landscape, with mobile subscriptions reaching 65.7 million as of December 2022,
representing a penetration rate of 133.1%. Additionally, Kenya boasts
connectivity to six submarine fiber cables—SEACOM, TEAMS, EASSy, LION2, DARE1,
and PEACE—enhancing its global digital connectivity

The
DPL launch aims to drive political commitment, encourage cross-border
collaboration, and establish a shared roadmap for modernizing public
administration, improving service delivery, and enhancing institutional
resilience across Africa. By participating in this event, Kenya not only
showcases its advancements in the digital realm but also contributes to the
collective effort of fostering a digitally empowered and resilient Africa.
