The Federal
Government has secured a N1 billion grant from the Airtel Africa Foundation to
support its ambitious 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme. The funding
injection was announced by Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications,
Innovation and Digital Economy, marking a major milestone in public-private
collaboration for human capital development.
The substantial
grant will directly support the training and empowerment of over 25,000
Nigerians with cutting-edge technical skills that align with global market
demands. According to the Ministry's plans, the funds will be strategically
deployed across three critical areas: comprehensive hands-on training
programmes, nationwide community engagement initiatives, and robust job
placement services designed to connect graduates with employment
opportunities.

Dr. Tijani
emphasized the programme's alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed
Hope Agenda, which prioritizes human capital development as a cornerstone of
national economic transformation. "This partnership with Airtel Africa
Foundation accelerates our mission to position Nigeria as a formidable player
in the global technology ecosystem," the Minister stated during the
grant reception ceremony.
The 3MTT
programme forms a crucial component of Nigeria's strategy to bridge the digital
skills gap and create a future-ready workforce capable of competing in the
Fourth Industrial Revolution. By focusing on in-demand technical competencies,
the initiative aims to simultaneously address youth unemployment while meeting
the growing needs of Nigeria's expanding digital economy.

Airtel Africa
Foundation's decision to invest in Nigeria's human capital development reflects
growing private sector confidence in the government's digital transformation
agenda. The telecommunications giant's commitment extends beyond financial
support, encompassing knowledge sharing and industry expertise to ensure the
programme's successful implementation.
