The MTN Group
family gathered in solemn celebration to honor the legacy of its founding
Chairman, Dr. Pascal Gabriel Dozie, CON, during a special Night of Tributes in
Lagos. The event brought together past and present leaders of the
telecommunications giant, united in commemorating the visionary who laid the
foundation for MTN Nigeria's remarkable success.

President and CEO Ralph Mupita led the delegation of executives, joined by Karl
Toriola, CEO of MTN Nigeria, and distinguished board members. Among the notable
attendees was Phuthuma Nhleko, former Group President & CEO, whose
leadership was instrumental in MTN's continental expansion. He was accompanied
by Irene Charnley, the trailblazing former Executive Director credited with
securing MTN's operating license in Nigeria.
The gathering
also included current MTN Nigeria Chairman Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, OFR, alongside
former directors Gbenga Oyebode and Tunde Folawiyo, all paying homage to Dr.
Dozie's multifaceted legacy. Heartfelt tributes painted a portrait of an
extraordinary leader - a rare combination of business acumen, patriotic zeal,
and unwavering belief in Nigeria's potential.

Speakers
recalled Dr. Dozie's quiet strength and generosity of spirit that shaped both
corporate strategy and human development. His mentorship cultivated generations
of business leaders while his institutional building transformed Nigeria's
