MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita has reinforced the company's dedication to advancing Africa's digital transformation during high-level discussions with Rwanda's Minister of ICT and Innovation, Hon. Paula Ingabire. The meetings, which included engagements with MTN Rwanda leadership, focused on accelerating innovation and artificial intelligence adoption across the continent.

The dialogue built on key outcomes from April's landmark AI Africa Summit in Kigali, where African nations demonstrated their readiness to lead in Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. Mupita, recently appointed Deputy Chairperson of global mobile industry body GSMA, confirmed MTN's full participation in MWC Africa 2025, the continent's premier digital technology event scheduled for Kigali later this year.

"Africa's digital transformation requires collaboration between governments, regulators and industry," Mupita stated. "Through events like MWC Africa and our ongoing investments, we're creating platforms to drive inclusive connectivity and sustainable growth." The discussions highlighted MTN's strategic focus on expanding digital infrastructure while developing local AI solutions tailored to African challenges.

The visit underscored MTN's pan-African commitment to bridging digital divides through its extensive network operations and innovation hubs.
