Telkom SA delivers strong financial performance

Telkom Group has reported robust financial results for the year ended 31 March 2025, demonstrating the success of its strategic transformation under Group CEO Serame Taukobong. The telecommunications giant presented its performance at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, highlighting significant growth across key metrics that underscore its position as South Africa's digital infrastructure leader. 

Telkom's data-led strategy yielded impressive results, with adjusted EBITDA surging 25.1% to R11.8 billion. The company strengthened its financial position through improved free cash flow of R2.4 billion while growing its mobile subscriber base by 13.4% to reach 23.2 million customers. Shareholders will benefit from a dividend declaration of 261 cents per share, representing a R1.3 billion return on investment. 

"Our performance reflects the successful execution of our OneTelkom vision," stated Taukobong during the results presentation. The CEO credited the company's multi-year infrastructure modernization program and operational realignment for creating a resilient platform capable of sustaining growth momentum. 

The results showcase Telkom's successful transition from legacy operations to a future-focused digital services provider. The company's investments in network upgrades and digital transformation have positioned it to capitalize on South Africa's growing demand for connectivity and cloud services. 

Taukobong paid tribute to Telkom employees, acknowledging their role in driving the company's turnaround. "This achievement belongs to every team member whose dedication and innovation made our transformation possible," he remarked. The CEO emphasized that Telkom has moved beyond stabilization into a phase of sustained growth and market leadership. 

Looking ahead, Telkom remains committed to maintaining its position as South Africa's digital backbone while exploring new opportunities in enterprise solutions, fiber expansion, and next-generation mobile services. The strong 2025 performance establishes a solid foundation for the company's continued evolution in an increasingly competitive telecommunications landscape.
