The Director-General of the Autorité de Régulation
des Télécommunications et des Postes (ARTP) has welcomed a delegation from
Mali’s Autorité Malienne de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC et des Postes
(AMRTP) for a working visit in Dakar. The delegation, led by the AMRTP Executive Secretary and a
Council member, met with ARTP leadership as part of ongoing efforts to enhance
bilateral cooperation in the telecommunications sector.

The
visit coincided with a training workshop on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites,
co-organized by ARTP and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
During their stay, the Malian delegation explored digital tools for frequency
management, satellite operator oversight, complaint handling platforms, postal
regulation, and other key regulatory areas.
The
discussions provided an opportunity for ARTP and AMRTP officials to exchange
insights on electronic communications regulation, digital solutions developed
by ARTP, and the challenges and opportunities posed by satellite operators
entering the African market. The meeting also focused on strengthening
bilateral collaboration and sharing best practices in response to sectoral
developments.

The
two authorities, long-standing partners in regional and international
telecommunications forums, had previously signed a community roaming agreement
in December 2025, set to take effect in March 2026, further cementing their
cooperation.
