The Chief Executive Officer
of Vodafone Egypt and Vodacom International Markets, Mohamed Abdallah, has concluded
a series of high-level engagements in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
and Lesotho, underscoring the group’s focus on growth, strategy, and national
digital transformation initiatives.
During his visit to
Kinshasa, Abdallah met with the Board, leadership team, and employees of
Vodacom Congo (RDC) S.A. Discussions centered on business performance, growth
opportunities, and strategic priorities aimed at strengthening the company’s
market position within the DRC’s evolving telecommunications landscape. The
meetings also provided an opportunity to engage with staff and acknowledge the
role of talent and operational execution in driving long-term competitiveness.

In Lesotho, Abdallah held
talks with Hon. Nthati Moorosi, Minister of Information, Communications,
Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), alongside Vodacom Lesotho
executives. The discussions focused on advancing the government’s digitization
agenda, including initiatives designed to expand digital access, enhance public
service delivery, and accelerate the country’s digital economy objectives.
The engagements reflect
Vodacom’s continued emphasis on collaboration with national stakeholders to
support digital inclusion, infrastructure development, and technology-driven
innovation across its markets.
The visits come amid growing
regional momentum around digital transformation, as governments and private
sector players align efforts to leverage connectivity and emerging technologies
for socio-economic development.
