The National Space Program
Management Office (GGPEN) has held an institutional meeting with UNITEL to
assess opportunities for a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening
internet connectivity and advancing digital transformation initiatives in
Angola.
The discussions, held on
Thursday, brought together GGPEN Director General, Zolana Joao, and UNITEL
Chief Executive Officer, Amilca Safeca, focusing on potential collaboration within the
framework of the Conecta Angola Comercial project.

According to officials, the
meeting sought to identify areas of synergy that would support startups,
promote technological innovation, and accelerate digital transformation across
the country. Central to the dialogue was the expansion of connectivity services,
particularly in remote and underserved regions.
Both institutions examined
avenues for joint initiatives linked to the space economy, highlighting the
growing intersection between satellite-enabled solutions and terrestrial
telecommunications infrastructure. The engagement also emphasized the importance
of closer cooperation between Angola’s space and telecom sectors as part of
broader national development priorities.

The talks concluded with a
shared commitment to further explore collaborative projects designed to enhance
digital access, improve network reach, and contribute to Angola’s evolving
digital ecosystem.
