The
Ministry of ICT & National Guidance has signed a Memorandum of
Collaboration with Spotlight on Africa and UK-based Algorithmic Partners to
accelerate Uganda’s digital transformation agenda. The partnership will
establish a community-centered ICT Innovation Hub in Mbale, aimed at equipping
young people and local communities with practical digital skills, fostering
innovation, and creating pathways to jobs and entrepreneurship.

Dr.
Aminah Zawedde, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of ICT & National
Guidance, noted that the MoU represents a broader vision beyond a single hub.
She highlighted plans to replicate such hubs across Uganda in collaboration
with private sector and international partners, ensuring that young Ugandans
have the skills and opportunities necessary to thrive in the evolving digital
economy.
