France
reaffirmed its strategic vision for artificial intelligence at the Global
Summit for the Impact of AI held in New Delhi, with French Minister Delegate
for Francophonie and International Partnerships, Éléonore Caroit, underscoring
the country’s commitment to shaping inclusive and responsible AI development.

The
minister attended the summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron,
joining a gathering of global leaders that included Brazilian President Luiz
Inácio Lula da Silva, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and the Crown
Prince of the United Arab Emirates.
The
event, regarded as one of the largest international forums on artificial
intelligence, brought together more than 250,000 participants, including
technology executives, policymakers, and public and private sector
decision-makers. Discussions centered on how AI can be developed and deployed
in ways that promote inclusivity and deliver tangible benefits for societies.
Caroit
emphasized France’s ambition to advance what she described as a “third way” for
artificial intelligence — an approach aimed at balancing technological
innovation with environmental sustainability, the public interest, and
safeguards for children.

France’s
positioning builds on momentum from the AI summit it hosted in Paris last year,
where policymakers and industry leaders debated governance frameworks, ethical
considerations, and the societal implications of emerging AI systems.
The
New Delhi summit continued global conversations on responsible AI, reflecting
growing international focus on regulation, equity, and the long-term impact of
artificial intelligence on economies and communities. French officials
described the forum as a significant milestone for international cooperation on
AI policy and development.
