Mozambique
has convened its first National Conference on Digital Transformation, marking
what stakeholders described as a significant milestone in the implementation of
the country’s Digital Transformation Strategy for 2025–2029.
The
conference brought together senior government officials, development partners,
private sector representatives and international experts to examine practical
pathways for accelerating Mozambique’s digital modernization. Participants
focused on applied strategies, highlighting case studies on scaling digital
public services, expanding financial technology solutions, modernizing digital
platforms and advancing infrastructure deployment.

Discussions
throughout the event emphasized execution-oriented priorities, reflecting a
shift toward measurable outcomes and operational delivery within the country’s
digital agenda.
Connectivity
emerged as a central theme, with particular attention given to the role of
satellite technologies in extending network reach. Speakers underscored the
importance of satellite systems in supporting national coverage, especially in
rural and underserved regions where terrestrial infrastructure remains limited.
Satellite-enabled connectivity was framed as a critical component for
strengthening service delivery across sectors, including education, healthcare,
disaster management and broader economic participation.

Stakeholders
noted that the conference signaled renewed momentum within Mozambique’s ICT
ecosystem, reinforced by collaboration between government institutions, global
technology actors and development partners.
The
event highlighted Mozambique’s broader commitment to leveraging digital
technologies as a driver of economic growth, public sector efficiency and
inclusive development.
