The
Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), in collaboration with MTN
Nigeria, has launched free high-speed internet services at two of the country’s
major international gateways, Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA)
Terminal 2 in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja.

The
initiative is designed to enhance passenger experience by ensuring seamless
connectivity for travelers while awaiting departure or upon arrival. Officials
said the deployment marks a significant step in modernizing digital services
across Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure.
The
announcement follows a recent visit to FAAN headquarters by the Chief Executive
Officer of MTN Nigeria, Dr. Karl Olutokun Toriola, and his management team,
where discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between both
institutions.
FAAN
indicated that plans are underway to extend the free internet service to
additional airports, including Enugu, Port Harcourt, and Kano, as part of
broader efforts to improve digital access across the country’s airport network.

The
authority described the project as a practical example of a public-private
partnership supporting national development objectives. FAAN’s Managing
Director and Chief Executive, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, reaffirmed the agency’s
commitment to leveraging partnerships to drive innovation and operational
efficiency.
Industry
observers noted that enhanced connectivity services align with Nigeria’s
digital economy agenda and reflect increasing integration of digital
infrastructure within the aviation sector.
