Morocco launches National Sponsorship Programme to support women in digital careers

Morocco’s Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni, has presided over the launch of the National Sponsorship Programme aimed at supporting and promoting female talent in the digital sector.

The launch ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and was attended by Francisco “Paco” Bermudez Atalaya, Executive Vice President for Global Delivery Centers at Capgemini, Badra Hamdaoua, Managing Director of Capgemini Morocco, as well as several university deans and academic representatives.

The initiative, implemented in partnership with Capgemini, is designed to strengthen collaboration between universities and industry while encouraging more young women to pursue careers in technology and digital innovation.

Speaking at the event, Minister El Fallah-Seghrouchni emphasized that the success of digital transformation depends on the active participation of all talents. She noted that increasing the participation of young women in technological fields is a strategic step toward strengthening Morocco’s competitiveness and reinforcing the national digital ecosystem. She also highlighted the need to build stronger connections between education, research and the labour market.

Under the programme, participating students will receive mentorship from experienced professionals in the digital sector. The initiative will provide individualized guidance, knowledge sharing and regular engagement designed to build confidence, develop technical and professional skills, and facilitate the integration of participants into digital transformation careers.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants of the mentorship programme.
