Ethiopia Telecommunications PLC has marked Women Innovators Day with a townhall event aimed
at recognizing the contributions of women driving innovation within the
organization.
Held under the theme “She Innovates, We Transform,”
the event brought together employees to celebrate the role of women in
advancing technology, leadership and transformation across the company.

Speaking during the gathering, Chief Executive Officer
Wim Vanhelleputte highlighted the
importance of curiosity and experimentation in driving innovation, noting that
progress often begins when individuals challenge existing ideas and explore new
possibilities.

Officer Aatif Jamal emphasized that
innovation flourishes in environments where diverse perspectives are
encouraged. He noted that empowering women to contribute ideas, creativity and
leadership enables organizations to develop stronger and more impactful
solutions.
The programme also included a health
and wellness session led by a guest physician, which focused on workplace
health protection and practical measures employees can adopt to maintain
well-being while working in office environments.

In addition, employees participated
in interactive game sessions designed to promote engagement and strengthen team
spirit during the celebration.
The event
formed part of activities marking International
Women's Day on March 8 and highlighted the company’s commitment to
supporting women’s leadership and innovation as part of its broader vision for
growth and transformation in Ethiopia.
