ITU delegation visits Ethiopian AI Institute to explore collaboration

A
delegation from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), led by
Telecommunication Development Bureau Director Cosmas Zavazava, visited the
Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII) to explore opportunities for
collaboration.
During
the visit, EAII Director General Worku Gachena, PhD, briefed the delegation on
the Institute’s research initiatives, ongoing AI projects, and its contribution
to Ethiopia’s digital transformation.
Dr.
Zavazava commended the Institute’s technological achievements and highlighted
its potential to advance AI research and innovation. Discussions focused on
strengthening cooperation in digital infrastructure, research, capacity
building, and supporting technological innovation in Ethiopia and across
Africa.
