The
Ministry of Vocational Training and Education Algeria has officially launched a
national training programme in artificial intelligence aimed at developing
advanced digital skills and strengthening human capital for emerging strategic
sectors.
The
programme was inaugurated under the supervision of Minister Nassima Arhab,
alongside the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-Enterprises
Noureddine Zahid.

Officials
said the initiative aligns with national directives to modernise vocational
training by shifting from traditional instruction models to competency-based
learning approaches. The new model emphasises project-based learning, practical
training and simulation of real-world professional environments.
The
artificial intelligence training track will run for 12 weeks and combine
intensive theoretical instruction with applied project development.
Participants will be assessed through structured evaluation systems based on
performance, innovation and operational efficiency.
As
part of the initiative, authorities also announced the establishment of the
first business incubator at the National Institute of Vocational Training’s
Centre of Excellence in Digital Economy in Sidi Abdallah-Rahmania. The
incubator is designed to support startups, develop innovative ideas and
transform them into viable economic enterprises.

The
ministry said the programme reflects a broader strategy to modernise vocational
education, anticipate future labour market needs and strengthen Algeria’s
integration into global value chains through highly skilled technical talent.
Officials
added that the initiative is intended to bridge the gap between training
systems and the productive economy, ensuring graduates are equipped for
high-value roles in rapidly evolving digital industries.
