The
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has underscored the importance of
international partnerships in accelerating global digital development and
advancing efforts toward universal connectivity.

Speaking
on ongoing collaboration initiatives, Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, Director of the
Telecommunication Development Bureau at the ITU, noted that a range of global
institutions have recently joined forces with the Union to support digital
transformation efforts across regions.
According
to the ITU, partners include Qualcomm, the Australian Department of
Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the
Arts, Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission,
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, the South Korea Ministry of
Science and ICT, Cyber Security Brunei, Türkiye, and Jordan.

These
collaborations are focused on strengthening digital infrastructure, improving
connectivity, and supporting inclusive access to telecommunications services,
particularly in underserved and developing regions.
The
ITU emphasized that such partnerships are central to achieving its strategic
goal of universal connectivity, with stakeholders working together to address
digital gaps and support sustainable digital transformation worldwide.
