Togo
has inaugurated the Djanta Tech Hub as part of efforts to strengthen
innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation in the country.
The
initiative was announced by Togo’s Minister of Public Sector Efficiency and
Digital Transformation, Cina Lawson, who said the hub is designed to create a
collaborative environment where innovators, entrepreneurs and technology talent
can develop solutions capable of driving national and international impact.

According
to Lawson, the name “Djanta,” which means “Lion” in the Ewe language, reflects
the hub’s vision of promoting courage, innovation and entrepreneurship among
young innovators and startups.
The
launch of the hub also marked the official opening of the “Idée-Action” and
“Innov’Action” challenges, which seek to identify innovative ideas and
promising startups for further development and support.
The
initiatives are expected to focus on key sectors including agriculture,
education, public services and the creative industries, while contributing to
the development of a stronger local innovation ecosystem.

Lawson
said the Djanta Tech Hub aims to provide a platform where talents can
collaborate, experiment, learn and scale their ideas in response to national
development challenges and opportunities created by digital transformation.
She
added that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to position Togo as a
more innovative, competitive and digitally driven economy by investing in local
talent and supporting technology-led entrepreneurship.
