Mauritius Telecom has launched my.t protect Parental Control, a new digital safety solution designed to enhance child online protection and support safer internet use for children and families.

The solution, powered by Norton Family technology, was officially launched on May 11 during an event held at Telecom Tower and marks the second phase of Mauritius’ national Child Online Protection programme.

The launch was led by Veemal Gungadin and attended by senior government and regulatory officials including Avinash Ramtohul, Commissioner of Police Rampersad Sooroojebally, Ombudsperson for Children Aneeta Ghoorah and ICT sector leaders.

According to Mauritius Telecom, the new platform extends online protection to home Wi-Fi networks, providing broader coverage of internet activity by minors regardless of how or where they connect.

The company said the initiative is aimed at helping parents manage and monitor children’s digital experiences while promoting safer and more responsible internet usage within households.

Gungadin said the solution provides parents with stronger tools and greater peace of mind in supporting children’s online safety.

Mauritius Telecom said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to promoting secure and responsible digital access for younger internet users as digital adoption continues to expand across the country.
