The
Chief Executive Officer of Eutelsat, Jean-François Fallacher, has emphasized
the critical role of satellite connectivity in enabling Africa’s digital
transformation and long-term economic development.
Speaking
at the Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi, Fallacher joined leaders from
government, industry, and finance to discuss how improved connectivity can
support the continent’s next phase of growth.

He
noted that satellite connectivity remains a key enabler of opportunity,
particularly in regions where reliable access is still limited. According to
him, connectivity has a direct impact on development outcomes, transforming
lives and expanding access to services when deployed effectively.
Fallacher
stressed that despite progress, millions of people across Africa still lack
reliable internet access, adding that future connectivity solutions must be
resilient, trusted, and inclusive to meet growing demand in an increasingly
digital world.
He
also highlighted Africa’s growing influence in the global digital economy,
describing the continent as a region defined by innovation, ambition, and rapid
advancement. He called for stronger collaboration between connectivity
providers and African governments to support sovereign digital ambitions and
sustainable development goals.

The
Africa Forward Summit was held under the high patronage of French President
Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto. Fallacher expressed
appreciation to the organisers and participants, reaffirming Eutelsat’s
commitment to long-term partnership in advancing Africa’s digital future
through investment, collaboration, and expanded connectivity infrastructure.
