ATU Administrative Council opens 27th Ordinary Session in Cape Town

The 27th Ordinary Session of the Administrative Council of the African Telecommunication Union (ATU) has commenced in Cape Town, South Africa, bringing together member states to deliberate on key priorities shaping Africa’s digital future.

The three-day session is focused on reviewing the Union’s activities, financial matters, administration, constitutional reform processes, and strategic digital priorities for the continent.

Delegates from ATU member states are expected to engage in discussions aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and advancing policies that support digital transformation, connectivity, and telecommunications development across Africa.

The meeting also provides a platform for member states to assess the Union’s operational direction and governance frameworks while addressing emerging challenges and opportunities within the continent’s evolving digital landscape.

The African Telecommunication Union continues to play a central role in coordinating telecommunications and ICT policy collaboration among African countries as the continent accelerates efforts toward inclusive digital development and regional integration.
