The Kenya School of
Government (Kenya School of Government) and Huawei Kenya have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening collaboration in digital
skills development and ICT capacity building for Kenya’s public service.
The agreement comes as the
Kenya School of Government marks 100 years of public service training, and is
positioned as part of efforts to build a digitally empowered and future-ready
public sector.

Under the partnership, the
two institutions will implement joint training programmes, research
collaboration and technical knowledge exchange focused on enhancing digital
competencies within government institutions.
The initiative places
emphasis on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and
cybersecurity, which are increasingly central to modern public sector
operations and service delivery.
It will also support
industry-aligned certification programmes designed to equip public servants and
technical staff with advanced ICT skills needed to adapt to evolving
technological demands.

Officials say the
collaboration aligns with Kenya’s broader digital transformation agenda and
reinforces the role of innovation and technology in improving efficiency and
effectiveness in public service delivery.
The partnership is expected
to strengthen institutional capacity while supporting long-term efforts to
modernise government operations through technology-driven solutions.
