The
second day of the 9th Conference of the African Network of Personal Data
Protection Authorities (RAPDP) continued in Abidjan with high-level panels and
technical exchanges focused on strengthening digital governance across Africa.
The
discussions, hosted under the oversight of the Autorité de Régulation des TIC
(ARTCI), examined key regulatory challenges shaping the continent’s digital
transformation, including digital health systems and the protection of
sensitive personal data.

Participants
also addressed emerging issues in e-commerce regulation and consumer
protection, highlighting the need for stronger safeguards to ensure trust and
security in digital transactions. Additional sessions explored the governance
of innovative technologies and the evolving frameworks required to manage
personal data in an increasingly data-driven economy.
The
conference brought together regulators, policymakers, and digital economy
stakeholders from across the continent to share experiences and coordinate
approaches to digital regulation.

Organizers
described the day as one marked by constructive dialogue and collective
reflection aimed at advancing a secure, trustworthy, and inclusive digital
ecosystem in Africa.
