BasiGo has joined Kenya’s
expanding electric mobility sector in a large-scale electric vehicle parade
held across Nairobi, highlighting the country’s accelerating shift toward clean
and sustainable transport systems.
The 43-kilometre parade
brought together multiple stakeholders in the electric mobility space,
including operators of electric trucks, motorcycles, cars and bicycles, in a
coordinated demonstration of emerging low-emission transport solutions already
entering public and private use.

According to BasiGo, which
is deploying electric buses and supporting charging infrastructure, the event
underscored the growing momentum behind Kenya’s transition to cleaner transport
powered by locally generated energy and renewable sources.
Participants described the
parade as a practical demonstration of how electric mobility is beginning to
reshape urban transport, logistics and public transit systems, while
contributing to broader environmental sustainability goals.
BasiGo noted that the
collective participation of industry players reflects a shared vision of
cleaner cities, reduced noise pollution and improved urban mobility systems
across Kenya and the wider African region.

The company emphasized that
Kenya is uniquely positioned to advance electric transport adoption due to
increasing collaboration between private sector innovators, utility providers
and industry associations.
The event was organized with
support from the Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK) and Kenya Power,
bringing together stakeholders committed to accelerating the adoption of
electric vehicles and supporting infrastructure development.
Industry participants said
the demonstration highlighted not only technological progress but also the
growing alignment across sectors to drive a coordinated transition toward
sustainable transport solutions in Africa.
