Visa and ZOYK have announced
a strategic partnership through Visa Direct aimed at expanding access to
digital payments and strengthening financial infrastructure across Africa.
The collaboration introduces
the ZOYK Visa Direct Account Wallet, a solution designed to improve the
efficiency of cross-border money transfers while enhancing speed, transparency
and accessibility for users. The platform is also designed to comply with stringent
regulatory and security standards governing digital financial services.

According to the
announcement, the partnership combines Visa’s global payments infrastructure
with ZOYK’s local market expertise to address long-standing challenges in
remittances, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) payments and business
disbursements across the continent.
The companies noted that
inefficiencies in cross-border payments have remained a barrier to financial
inclusion and economic participation, particularly for individuals and
businesses operating across multiple African markets.
The new solution is expected
to streamline transaction flows, reduce friction in payment processes and
improve access to reliable digital financial services for both individuals and
enterprises.

As Africa’s digital economy
continues to expand, the partnership is positioned as part of broader efforts
to deepen financial inclusion and strengthen trust in digital payment systems,
while enabling greater participation in regional and global economic activity.
Industry stakeholders
continue to emphasize the importance of partnerships between global financial
technology providers and local innovators in addressing structural gaps in
Africa’s payments ecosystem and accelerating the growth of digital commerce across
the continent.
