The
Government of the Republic of Zambia has signed a strategic Cooperation
Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei Technologies to strengthen artificial
intelligence infrastructure and accelerate public sector digital
transformation.
The

in Zambia’s digital transformation agenda.
It
also includes plans for the establishment of a localized National AI Data
Centre aimed at enhancing sovereign data capabilities and supporting advanced
digital services within the public sector.
According
to the agreement, the initiative will prioritize technology transfer and the
development of local technical capacity through structured training programmes
designed to upskill thousands of ICT professionals in Zambia.
Officials
noted that the collaboration is intended to modernize public administration
systems, improve service delivery and strengthen the country’s position in the
emerging digital economy.
The
partnership forms part of broader efforts by Zambia to leverage advanced
technologies to improve governance efficiency and accelerate innovation-driven
development.
