MTN partners Tecno Mobile to launch Tecno Camon 20 Series

The long-awaited Tecno Camon 20 Series smartphone touted for its groundbreaking stylish design has officially been launched at the plush Kempinski Hotel in Accra by Tecno brand ambassador and dancehall icon, Stonebouy, thanks to Tecno Ghana in partnership with MTN Ghana.

The event which was attended by government officials, partners, phone dealer groups, celebrities, bloggers, and corporate executives had the TECNO’s CAMON 20 Series comprising the Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, Camon 20Pro 5G, and the Camon 20 Premier on display.

Welcoming guests to the event, the Brands Manager for Tecno Ghana, Lu long lu said Ghana continues to lead in the area of smartphone penetration in Africa and within the West Africa sub-region, and Tecno is happy to be part of the country’s smartphone ecosystem contributing to the growth of that sector.

He said the introduction of the new Tecno Camon 20 series on the Ghanaian smartphone market is a demonstration of Tecno’s commitment to providing customers with products that meet their digital needs.

In a speech read on behalf of the MTN Chief Commercial Officer during the launch, the Senior Manager, Marketing Planning and Analytics at MTN Ghana, Guido Sopiimeh commended Tecno Mobile for the continuous innovation in their product portfolio to address the device needs of our customers.  

He explained that MTN’s partnership with Original Equipment Manufacturers like Tecno Mobile is anchored on our Ambition 2025 strategic intent to lead digital solutions for Africa’s progress, adding that it is also rooted in its belief that everyone deserves the benefit of a modern connected life.

“The partnership between MTN and Tecno Mobile continues to grow following several collaborations to enhance the experience of our customers with various devices and data bundles,” he predicted.

Walking guests through the new Tecno 20 Series, the Business Manager at Tecno Ghana, Daniel Glover revealed that the products have the same design with a unique pentagonal-shaped camera island with a geometric pattern design on the back panel.

He said the new Tecno 20 Series features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, adding that they are all equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. 

Regarding imaging, he noted that the Tecno Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro feature a 64MP main sensor paired with a 2MP macro unit and an AI lens. “The Camon 20 and 20 Pro 5G also retains the same primary and macro lenses but the third unit is 2MP bokeh and the main sensor also supports OIS”.

According to him, the Tecno Camon 20 series is supported by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging on the standard and pro models, and they come in Serenity Blue and Predawn Black colors.
