Onix Data Centre
has disclosed that its Tier 3 carrier neutral facility, located at the Almadies
2Africa Cable Landing Station in Dakar is expected to be completed in the
fourth quarter of 2023.
According to
a statement released on Thursday, it said following the launch on 16 February,
the final designs are ready to be submitted to the Uptime Institute for
certification.
The Chief
Executive Officer for Onix Senegal, Mamadou Kebe noted in the statement that
Onix Data Centre in Dakar is a tremendous opportunity for Senegal and international
organisations that require space in West Africa as the facility is optimally
located in the CLS.
Due to its
location, the Onix Data Centre at the Almadies 2Africa CLS, becomes part of an
exclusive list of facilities with direct access to multiple subsea cables and
backhaul routes. This strategic location offers unparalleled carrier-neutral
connectivity for both local and international companies while avoiding cable
challenges faced in Africa. The facility will extend connectivity solutions
across the West Coast of Africa. For Senegal, the data centre will be a
catalyst for unlocking digital services and economic growth. The digital
transformation will attract foreign investment bolstering the country’s
development.
Onix Dakar
promises to bring transformative benefits to Senegal and the broader West
African region. As we approach the facility’s completion date, we invite
interested parties to contact our team for more information or to discuss
partnership opportunities.
