MTN
South Africa, in partnership with the African United Business Confederation
(AUBC), has hosted a High-Level Business Roundtable Dialogue focused on the
future of satellite broadband, regulatory frameworks, universal access, and
consumer protection.
The
engagement brought together key stakeholders from government, regulatory
bodies, telecommunications, business, and technology sectors to examine how
satellite broadband can help expand connectivity, address the digital divide,
and create new economic opportunities across South Africa and the wider African
continent.
Discussions
centred on the importance of building enabling regulatory environments,
promoting responsible innovation, protecting consumers, and encouraging
investment in emerging connectivity solutions.
As
Africa continues to pursue greater digital inclusion, stakeholders emphasized
the need for collaboration between industry and policymakers to ensure that
reliable and affordable connectivity reaches underserved communities.
MTN
South Africa said partnerships and dialogue remain critical in shaping a
connected future where technology can contribute to economic growth, inclusion,
and improved access to opportunities for all.
