Guinea has officially opened
the 2026 entrance examinations for the Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles
(CPGE) of Dalaba and the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny
(INP-HB) of Yamoussoukro, with 1,067 candidates competing for 80 places.
The examinations were
officially launched on Wednesday at Gamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry by
Guinea’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Djami Diallo.
The highly selective
competition is intended to identify students with the academic ability and
potential to pursue advanced scientific and engineering education through the
two institutions.
Addressing candidates at the
opening of the examinations, Diallo stressed that the selection process
requires merit, rigour, discipline and perseverance, describing the competition
as an important step towards developing the country’s future scientific and
technological workforce.
The CPGE programme at Dalaba
and INP-HB in Yamoussoukro are positioned as key pathways for developing
high-level scientific and technological professionals capable of contributing
to Guinea’s economic and industrial development.
With only 80 places
available from more than 1,000 applicants, the competition reflects the high
level of demand for access to elite scientific and engineering training
programmes.
The successful candidates
are expected to receive advanced academic preparation and engineering training,
equipping them with skills needed to contribute to Guinea’s development and
strengthen the country’s technical and scientific capabilities.
