MTN has launched an artificial intelligence-powered Job Board on its MTN Skills Academy platform to connect young Africans with employment opportunities while helping them identify and address skills gaps required by employers.

The launch, announced on International Youth Day, expands the Skills Academy beyond digital learning by integrating job discovery, skills development and application tracking into a single platform.

Unlike conventional job platforms that primarily provide vacancy listings, the new Job Board uses AI to recommend employment opportunities based on learners’ skills, location and career aspirations. It also helps users assess how their existing capabilities match specific job requirements and recommends relevant courses where additional training may be needed.

The Job Board is available across the 11 MTN markets where the Skills Academy operates and provides access to vacancies from employers across Africa. Users can search and filter opportunities, review requirements, save positions and monitor their progress through application, interview and offer stages.

Marina Madale, MTN Group Executive for Sustainability and Shared Value, said the initiative was designed to address the gap between skills acquisition and access to economic opportunities.

She said young people across Africa increasingly need relevant skills and clearer pathways into employment, while businesses are seeking capabilities required to compete in a rapidly digitalising economy.

Madale said MTN’s approach is to strengthen the connection between learning, skills and employment as part of its broader digital and economic inclusion agenda.
