dfcu Bank has reaffirmed its
commitment to supporting Uganda’s industrial development and private sector
growth as policymakers, industry leaders and innovators gather for the third
Annual Regional Industrialization Conference 2026 in Kampala.
The conference is providing
a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening Uganda’s
industrial competitiveness, expanding regional markets and creating an enabling
environment for businesses to grow.
Speaking at the conference,
Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Hon. David Bahati
highlighted the opportunities presented by Africa’s expanding consumer market.
He noted that the regional market currently stands at about 331 million people
and is projected to reach approximately 800 million by 2050.
Bahati said increasing the
purchasing power of the growing population would create significant
opportunities for African businesses to expand production and access larger
markets.
The discussions at the
conference are focusing on the importance of collaboration, value addition and
policies that support investment and enterprise development as Uganda seeks to
strengthen its industrial base.
dfcu Bank said it remains
committed to supporting businesses across different sectors with financial
solutions designed to help enterprises invest, expand operations and contribute
to the country’s economic transformation.
The bank is participating in
the conference at Kampala Serena Hotel, where its team is engaging businesses
and other stakeholders on financing opportunities and solutions to support
enterprise growth.
The conference comes as
Uganda seeks to leverage regional integration and expanding markets to
accelerate industrialisation, increase value addition and strengthen the
competitiveness of local enterprises.
