Six members of Togolaises In
Science have arrived in Accra to participate in the SheFintech Hackathon 2026,
an initiative focused on developing innovative solutions in financial
technology and financial inclusion.
The participants, Patricia
Sowou, Chamsiya Kondo, Akossiwa Fulbetine Benedicte Dofor, Amoudiya Sibitti,
Peniel Lemou and Esther Blessing Amoeni, were selected from several
applications to represent the Togo-based initiative at the hackathon organised
by the Sherise Technology Empowerment Program (STEP).
The event brings together
participants from different West African countries to apply their technical
skills, ideas and creativity to the development of practical FinTech solutions.
The Togolaises In Science
team is expected to use the platform to collaborate with other innovators,
exchange knowledge and develop technology-driven approaches to challenges
relating to financial inclusion.
The participation also
provides an opportunity for the six members to strengthen their technical and
entrepreneurial capabilities while building professional networks across the
West African technology ecosystem.
Togolaises In Science said
the participation marks an important opportunity for its members to showcase
their expertise beyond Togo and contribute to regional conversations around
technology, innovation and inclusive digital finance.
The organisation expressed
confidence that the team's participation in the hackathon would provide
valuable experience and exposure as the members work alongside other young
innovators to design solutions with potential social and economic impact.
