Uganda’s Minister of State for Information, Hon. Joyce Nabosa Ssebugwawo, has called on stakeholders in the information and communications technology sector to strengthen collaboration and place citizens at the centre of the country’s digital transformation efforts.

The minister made the call during the 2026 ICT Sector Annual Performance Review Retreat, where stakeholders gathered to assess progress made during the year, reflect on challenges and identify priorities for improving the sector.

Hon. Ssebugwawo urged participants to use the retreat as an opportunity for open and constructive discussions focused on identifying practical solutions to challenges affecting the ICT sector.

She stressed the importance of putting Ugandans at the centre of policy decisions and ensuring that digital transformation initiatives translate into improved public services and tangible benefits for citizens.

The minister also called for closer cooperation among institutions within the ICT sector, noting that stronger coordination would be essential to advancing Uganda’s digital transformation agenda.

The annual performance review provides a platform for stakeholders to assess sector performance, draw lessons from implementation and establish a stronger direction for the year ahead.
