MTN Zambia has appointed
Larry Annetts as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026,
as the company seeks to advance its growth, innovation and digital inclusion
agenda in the Zambian market.
Annetts brings more than 30
years of experience within the MTN Group, with a leadership record spanning
several competitive markets and roles focused on commercial growth, digital
transformation and product innovation.
He has held leadership
responsibilities across MTN operations including MTN South Africa, MTN Nigeria
and MTN Irancell, where he contributed to the Group’s commercial and digital
transformation efforts.
Annetts succeeds Abbad Reda,
who served as CEO of MTN Zambia from May 1, 2023, to September 1, 2026. MTN
Zambia has expressed appreciation to Reda for his leadership and contribution
to the business and wished him success in his new role as CEO of MTN Côte
d’Ivoire.
In his new position, Annetts
is expected to focus on strengthening MTN Zambia’s role as an enabler of
economic and social progress through accessible, relevant and inclusive digital
services.
Commenting on his
appointment, Annetts said MTN Zambia’s role extends beyond providing
connectivity and includes helping make digital services more accessible and
relevant to people across the country.
“Our role goes beyond
providing connectivity. We have an opportunity to be a strong enabler of
progress by making digital services more accessible, relevant and inclusive for
all Zambians,” he said.
MTN Zambia said the
leadership transition marks a new chapter for the company as it continues to
pursue innovation, growth and digital inclusion while delivering value to
customers, communities and the wider Zambian economy.
