Gabon has completed a
nine-month cybersecurity training programme delivered by MITRE experts,
building the capacity of officials from the National Agency for Digital
Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF) and other public institutions to detect,
analyse and respond to cyber threats.
Certificates of
participation were presented marking the conclusion of the training, which ran
from January to September 2026 and focused on the MITRE ATT&CK framework
and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI).
The programme combined
methodological training with practical workshops, equipping participants with
skills to analyse attackers’ profiles, behaviour and tactics and identify
digital traces left when systems are compromised.
Participants also learned
how to reconstruct the sequence of cyberattacks and identify the tactics,
techniques and procedures used by attackers in information technology
environments.
ANINF said the training will
contribute to improving the detection, analysis and response to cyber threats
while strengthening the capacity of institutions responsible for protecting
national information systems.
The certificates were
presented by ANINF Managing Director Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki and Denise
Olsen, cybersecurity expert and project manager at MITRE.
The initiative forms part of
a partnership between Gabon and the United States, with technical support from
MITRE aimed at developing national capabilities in cybersecurity and cyber
defence.
The programme also supports
the government’s digital transformation priorities, which place digital
sovereignty, critical infrastructure protection and the development of national
expertise at the centre of Gabon’s digital agenda.
ANINF said its participation
in the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting institutions
responsible for information-system security and contributing to the long-term
resilience of Gabon’s digital infrastructure.
